I have some words to say about this week topics in class. For some reason, i had a very difficult time understanding Externalities. Its is one of those topics that you think you understand but at the end you dont. I didnt get a good grip of it at the beggining and just never managed to understand it. On the other hand, I think that the assessment assignments helped alot, since it gave us the opportunity to really understand our own work. In my case, i decided to make an essay questions to evaluate what my students learned. I believe that essay questions really put people on the spot and will show how much or little someone knows about a subject. That is why i decided to make an essay question. The assessments that I have graded from other students in the class have been really good, since they make the student think about what they did and what they learned. the only thing i have left know is the book review. It is a beautiful day today, why not enjoy it reading a good economic's book.

Assessments

There are many great teachers who know how to explain their subject very well due to their great knowledge about that subject. But even the best of teachers have to make sure that their students are learning their material, otherwise it would be pointless to teach a class. That is why assessments are as equally important as knowing the subject. Evaluating students is important since it opens a window for the teacher to see how much or little students have been learning. It also gives the teacher the opportunity to help students on certain topics that they did not get a good grasp of, before its too late. It should not be seen as a form of grading students only, but as a form of detecting their weaknesses early enough to help them. On the other hand it is also important for students to evaluate techers, like it is mention on chapter 11 of our Economic's book "Economics for teachers". Asking questions is many times important to see how much a teacher knows about a subject. The way ateacher teaches a class is also important and it will be reflected on tests taken by students. The better techniques and knowledge a teacher has, the better education a student will get. In conclusion, evaluation is a perfect way to engage students in a class because the teacher will show interest in helping students out.

AKTIVE LEARNING

Active learning is a great way to help students understand a topic better. Many times students learn better when helped by other students. At the same time, there are people like myself who find it easier to learn by yourself. I enjoy lectures, and sometimes find it difficult to work well in a group. But again, that is why there are so many methods to choose from. Working in a group is a great way to get students engaged in a activity, since many get bored just hearing the teacher. I am positive that one day i will use active learning in my own classroom. The chapter on Active learning was very helpful and talked about many techniques that can improve the quality of an activity. Many times it is not only important to know information, but to actually practice what you know.
